First Ever Black Deaf Programme

This video clip was taken on 17th May 1992 and it explores an insight of our identity in a British society: Deaf first and Black second or the other way round ? Kevin Buckle, himself Deaf of Jamaican parentage made his debut as a presenter of the ground breaking BBC programme with a brilliant and eloquent interpreter, Sherrie Eugene from Bristol.

See how nervous was he – it seemed he signed in a rather stiffy and wooden manner ! It was his first time on the national TV.

Auschwitz – Deaf History Guide

Deaf History – Auschwitz Revealed

Holiday videos spread usually good mod, remember to had a great holiday in the sunshine, palm trees under the sea with bathing, cheerful parties, etc. Quite different from the videos of Lars Winter and his wife Sibel. They were in April in …Poland, Krakow, Auschwitz, Birkenau and Schindler’s factory. It was certainly not a happy holiday. Lars has visited Poland, because his family is from there. His mother was born in 1944 in near of Auschwitz, and his grandmother has managed to get all children healthy during the war. Many relatives won’t talk about the war. Lars does not know where they ended up. Because not only Jews but Poland, France, Dutch peoples were murdered by the Nazis could have been killed family members of Lars in concentration camps. As has been suggested in the family but NEVER. It was just all so incredibly horrible! – You can see in the video that “gets under your skin” this visit to Auschwitz Lars.

Lars and Sibel have tried to make their holiday videos accessible. They tell in DGS (German Sign Language), and subtitles are displayed in German. Let us take on a trip back to the past!
