Film Makers – TLC and New Zealand Sign Language Week
TLC student Rosie Solouota is interviewed about her latest video which is screening in the Deaf film Festival as part of New Zealand Sign Language Week. Rosie is part of The LEarning Connexion’s Deaf program which tailors the course for Deaf and hearing impaired students.
In the stunning fifth episode of the Fingerspellers, we find out who snatched Lyla and why they did it. Meanwhile a dodgy moustache leads Bella to become suspicious. But will her father ever trust what she says? Finally, Sonny questions whether Lyla ever did love him after all. An episode full of romance, intrigue and broken hearted gangsters.

Showcased in 20 International Film Festivals and winner of 5 Best Short Films and winner of an Audience Choice Award at Projections Festival, 2004.

In this episode the family mourn Cuddles’ death. We meet a brand new character, Lyla, emotionally sign-singing a special song at his wake. Deaffather suffers a relapse of his drinking problem – although it’s not alcohol he’s addicted to. And finally, the family accuse someone of being a traitor – but who? Watch it to find out!

Bella notices the new delivery man looks just like their sworn enemy, Manny Opera – so Deaffather tests him with an intense stare! Later, Bella asks whether a woman can ever be the family’s boss, and is startled by her family’s reaction. When Cuddles goes out on a routine delivery, he finds himself walking down a dark, cold alleyway, where nothing could ever possibly go wrong. Or could it? Watch it to find out!
