If you were given an extra chance at life, would you take it? 25 year old Cystic Fibrosis sufferer Pete Franklin has been offered a double lung transplant, his only possibility of leading a longer life. Seems an easy decision, right? But throw into the equation that Pete is deaf due to an NHS blunder and finding this much harder to deal with than the CF. This film follows Pete as he makes the hardest decision of his life. This film tells the story of courage, determination and positivity.

Real Deaf Life – “Miracle” voice prompted deaf mother to rescue her baby

A true story. God’s voice prompted me to save Sara who was a near drowning in a small pool. I spent the longest minute of her life when I revived her. I believed the rescue was a gift from God. In regarding of the patio slide, I thought was locked, and Sara squeezed out through a door when our other children came inside.. that event will never be forgotten. Sara’s life is not finished in God’s plan.

Ben was born deaf. He received his first Cochlear Implant at 11 month and his second at 16 months. Here he is dancing to Lady Gaga at 18 months. That is interesting!

In case you had any doubts, America is still the land of opportunity. CBS News correspondent Seth Doane has the story of one young man who’s living proof.

He’s so quick, so quiet that one could easily overlook Jose Gutierrez. But his story is as inspiring as the exhibits he polishes at the museum on Ellis Island.

As a kid in Mexico, he’d seen pictures of the Statue of Liberty and dreamed of a better life in the U.S. At just 15, Jose crossed the border without his parents, a journey made more difficult by the fact that he’s deaf….Read more about him!

Real Deaf Lives – My Smart Dog Understood Sign Language

This video is programmed with American Sign Language. Mona is trained to become our hearing dog. She alerts us to any environmental sounds. It does not mean she’s gifted because I believe most dogs are more receptive to signing than speaking words. Enjoy viewing!

Real Deaf Lives – Deaf man who was Sexually Abuse!

Deaf man’s pains continued as he went back to re-live the brutal abuses he’d endured at the hand of a priest! This is such a shame that those who have ignored his complaints were never brought to justice! I just hope he will find peace one day so that he can enjoy the rest of his life.
